Travelling is one of my favorite things to do - one day I hope to visit every continent.

From an archaeological perspective, this course taught me how humans worked with the environment to create complex tools, structures, and civilizations. Learning was done through discussion posts, a Google Earth map, E-Timeline, quizzes, and slide presentations. We looked at specific case studies - such as Stonehenge and Catalhoyuk -in an attempt to understand how and why they were built. This course really provoked me to think about "What really makes us human?"

Psychology of Intercultural Diversity
This course involved discussions and experiential learning. It revolved around exploring how one learns and changes while experiencing other cultures. Someone that has grown up between two cultures can be considered multicultural - they understand differences, are open-minded, and can adapt to new situations. This was one of my study abroad courses taken in Ireland. Because of this, we were encouraged to interact with locals and actively ask questions about the society in order to better understand and interact with the culture.

Culture and Medicine
This course focused on health and disease in a cross-cultural context. Our professors tackled this subject through weekly discussions, group activities, essays, and a final poster presentation. We discussed how the way we a culture views medicine may differ depending on how they view disease, which can have direct effects on treatment methods. This course allowed me to have a more open-minded perspective about treating disease and how important it is to take a person's culture into account when doing so.

Introduction to World Archaeology
From an archaeological perspective, this course taught me how humans of the past worked with their environment to create complex tools, structures, and civilizations. We looked at case studies such as Stonehenge and Catalhoyuk in an attempt to understand how and why they were built. This included how they were changed by civilizations over thousands of years. Learning was done through discussion posts, Google Earth, articles, quizzes, and lectures. This course really provoked me to think about "What really makes us human?"
