Travelling is one of my favorite things to do - one day I hope to visit every continent.

From an archaeological perspective, this course taught me how humans worked with the environment to create complex tools, structures, and civilizations. Learning was done through discussion posts, a Google Earth map, E-Timeline, quizzes, and slide presentations. We looked at specific case studies - such as Stonehenge and Catalhoyuk -in an attempt to understand how and why they were built. This course really provoked me to think about "What really makes us human?"

WELCOME!
My name is Karla J. Girón and I am a 2nd year Master's student in Family, Youth, and Community Sciences at the University of Florida (UF). I completed my undergraduate journey in December of 2018 with a B.S. in Psychology (Behavioral & Cognitive Neuroscience) and a B.A. in Anthropology. While my general lifetime experiences have certainly shaped who I am today, my growth as a leader, individual, and global citizen took place during my time as an undergraduate student. By creating this portfolio I hope to show you how these experiences have changed me. Feel free to explore each section of my journey.
